Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how the directory works, where data comes from, and how to get help.

Who runs Explore Fertility?

Explore Fertility is an independent directory built and maintained by a small team with no ownership stake in, employment by, or financial relationship with any fertility clinic or clinic network. See the About page for more.

Are you affiliated with any clinics?

No. Explore Fertility has no financial, operational, or editorial affiliation with any fertility clinic. Clinics cannot pay for better placement, a featured badge, or any form of promotional treatment. Our listings are sourced from public government data (CDC/NASS) and clinic-owned websites, not from commercial agreements.

How is this funded?

There are currently no paid placements or affiliate relationships on this site. We are in early stage. If that changes in the future, we will update our disclaimer page to reflect it clearly.

How often is the data updated?

CDC/NASS success-rate data is updated annually when the CDC publishes a new complete reporting year dataset (typically 18–24 months after the reporting year closes).

Clinic profile details (services, hours, pricing, insurance) are reviewed periodically based on submission volume and staff capacity. Corrections submitted by clinic staff or patients are prioritized.

What does "QA-passed" mean?

Before a clinic profile is published, it goes through an internal quality assurance review that checks: required fields are present and sourced, extracted values match their source page, no pricing or coverage claims are guessed, and the clinic is currently operational. A “QA-passed” designation means the profile has completed that review. Profiles not yet reviewed may still appear in the directory with a note indicating the verification status.

Why are some clinics missing from the directory?

Clinic coverage depends primarily on whether the clinic has reported to CDC/NASS. Clinics that do not perform ART cycles are generally not in the CDC/NASS dataset. Profiles that have not yet cleared our internal QA and publication review will not appear publicly even if the clinic record exists internally. If you know of a clinic that should be listed, contact us.

How do I report incorrect information?

Use the corrections form. Submissions are reviewed manually against a verifiable source before any changes are made to published data. You can submit evidence (a URL or document) to speed up review. We do not make changes based on unverified claims alone.

I’m a clinic representative — how do I update my listing?

Use the corrections form or email hello@explorefertility.com from your clinic’s domain. Include the clinic slug and what needs to change. We review updates manually against a verifiable source before publishing.

Where do success rates come from?

All success-rate data comes from the CDC/NASS (National ART Surveillance System) — the US government’s mandatory annual reporting system for fertility clinics. For a detailed explanation of what the numbers mean, how denominators work, and why a single number is not a quality score, see our success rates explainer.

Is the information on this site medical advice?

No. Nothing on Explore Fertility is medical advice. Clinic profiles, success-rate data, and any other content on this site are informational only. Always consult a qualified reproductive endocrinologist or other licensed medical professional before making any treatment decisions. See our full disclaimer.
