About

NYU Langone Fertility Center, part of NYU Langone Health and a partner of the Prelude Fertility network, operates two Manhattan offices, on the East Side and in NoMad, plus a Westchester location in Bronxville. The program is directed by Dr. James A. Grifo and includes reproductive endocrinologists Alan Berkeley, Jennifer Blakemore, Sarah Cascante, Shannon DeVore, Elizabeth Fino, Frederick Licciardi, Jacquelyn Shaw, Emily Weidenbaum, and Brooke Wertz. Core services include in vitro fertilization, egg freezing, embryo banking, preimplantation genetic testing, and fertility preservation. Dedicated programs cover oncofertility, LGBTQ+ family building, egg donation, and gestational carriers. The center holds the American Society for Reproductive Medicine's Nursing Center of Excellence designation through 2028 and has received the RESOLVE Hope Award for Achievement.

Cost factors to verify

A quoted price rarely tells the whole story. Ask the clinic how each of these is handled before comparing prices:

  • Diagnosis and testing — workup before treatment starts
  • Medications — injectables and pharmacy costs
  • Monitoring — cycle bloodwork, ultrasounds, and visits
  • Lab and anesthesia — embryology lab work, retrieval, and outside lab fees
  • Embryo testing — genetic testing (PGT) when used
  • Donor services — donor eggs, sperm, or gestational carrier coordination
  • Insurance plan design — coverage, network rules, and benefit limits
  • Financing — payment plans, multi-cycle packages, and refund programs

Questions to ask this clinic

  • Which services happen at this location, and which require travel to another lab or partner site?
  • Which fees are included in the quoted cycle price, and which are billed separately?
  • How should patients verify insurance benefits before starting treatment?

NYU Langone Fertility Center insurance page lists specific participating carriers: Aetna, Cigna, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, Optum, Oxford Health Plans, and United Healthcare. Insurance acceptance is self-reported by the clinic and changes frequently. Fertility benefits also vary by individual employer plan, and self-funded plans may opt out of state mandates. Always verify coverage directly with the clinic and your insurer before starting treatment.
